How does Auricular acupuncture work?

This therapy stimulates certain points and has been long used in China.  This treatment is very simple and the patient can be situated in any position and fully clothed.  The entire body can be accessed through the ear and the auricle is composed of a plate of elastic cartilage, a thin layer of fat and connective tissue which supplies numerous nerves. When disorders occur in the body there are various reactions that appear in the ear. For instance – tenderness, discoloration, and decreased cutaneous resistance. This modality can be used for preventative treatments as well as disease processes.
