Where is Cape Neddick Acupuncture located?

Cape Neddick Acupuncture is located in Cape Neddick, Maine. We provide the full address upon appointment scheduling. We are proud to serve Maine, New Hampshire and the seacoast area.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and to improve its function. The needles are as fine as a strand of hair. We use only disposal needles of the highest quality. The needles are inserted into specific meridian points in the body. A healing treatment program will be designed specifically for you by using traditional Chinese medicine, tongue and pulse diagnosis.

Research shows that needling the acupuncture points stimulates the nervous and endocrine systems to release chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These chemicals will either change the experience of pain, or they will trigger the release of other chemicals and hormones via the endocrine system which influence the body’s own internal regulating system.

The improved energy and biochemical balance produced by acupuncture results in stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities, and in promoting physical and emotional well-being.

Acupuncture has a successful clinical tradition in Asian culture of many thousands of years: not only does it work, but it may work better than typical Western medicine interventions.

How does Acupuncture Feel?

Acupuncture needles are only a little thicker than a human hair and most people barely feel them entering their skin.

After insertion you may feel a sensation of warmth, heaviness, or tingling, but there should be no pain. Most patients find acupuncture very relaxing and even fall asleep during treatment. At Cape Neddick Acupuncture in Cape Neddick, we strive to make sure you’re comfortable throughout your treatment.

Is Acupuncture Safe?

Each acupuncture needle is packaged individually in a sterile wrapper and is disposed of after use, avoiding the risk of infection. At Cape Neddick Acupuncture in Cape Neddick, safety and cleanliness is high priority during each treatment.
